# Get currency by Code and chain

GET https://api.fiftytwo.com/masterdata/currencies/v1/chain/{chainId}/{currencyCode}

Reference: https://fiftytwo-demo.ferndocs.com/api/master-data/reference/currencies/get-currency-by-code-and-chain

## Request

### Path parameters

- `currencyCode` (string, required) — The Code of the currency to retrieve
- `chainId` (integer, required) — The ID of the chain

## Response

### 200

Success

- `currencies` (list of CurrenciesCurrenciesItems, required) — List of all supported currencies with their exchange rate information and metadata.

## Errors

### 400 Bad Request Error

Bad Request

- `string`

## Types

### CurrenciesCurrenciesItems

Definition of a single currency record as stored in f112c(val).

- `currencyCode` (string, required) — A short code that identifies the currency, usually the well-known abbreviation (like 'USD' or 'EUR'). Must be 1 to 4 letters.
- `exchangeRate` (double, required) — The currency’s main exchange rate compared to a base or reference currency, expressed per 100 units of the currency. Used for price and payment calculations. For example, if 1 USD equals 1.1000 in the reference currency, exchangeRate must be 110.0000, since the rate is provided per 100 units. Supports up to 4 decimal places.
- `commonCurrencyCode` (integer, required) — A number that tells the system whether this currency should be converted using a shared 'common currency' before converting it to another currency. If the value is 0, the currency is converted directly using its own exchange rate. If the value is greater than 0, the currency must first be converted into the shared common currency, and then converted again into the target currency. This is useful when two currencies do not have a direct exchange rate, so the system uses a common middle currency to ensure the conversion is correct.
- `conversionFactor` (double, required) — A value used to convert amounts to and from the common currency. Amounts are divided or multiplied by this number during conversion. Supports up to 6 decimal places.
- `isoNumericCode` (integer, required) — The official three-digit ISO numeric code for the currency (for example, USD = 840, EUR = 978). If the value is 0, the currency does not have an ISO numeric code.
- `displayText` (string, optional) — A short, human-friendly label or name for the currency. Maximum 10 characters.
- `decimalCount` (enum, optional, default: 2) — Number of decimals used when displaying or rounding currency amounts. Allowed values: 0, 1, or 2. Defaults to 2 if not specified.
  - Allowed values: `0`, `1`, `2`
